War on Want Northern Ireland — Fighting World PovertyThrough its membership and active participation in Dochas in Dublin and CADA (Coalition for Aid Development Agencies) in Belfast, War on Want NI campaigns for change to bring about a fairer and more equitable world. It works to influence policy makers and public opinion and behaviour towards greater global justice and equality, particularly in the areas of Aid and Trade. In the Northern Ireland Assembly War on Want NI has worked with the All Party Group on International Development to develop a motion on International Development which was passed in April 2008.
To increase War on Want NI staff and volunteer understanding and knowledge of International Development and global issues, a successful Development Education programme, funded by DFID, was implemented in 2007.
