War on Want Northern Ireland — Fighting World PovertyWith income from fundraising, charity shops and grants from statutory and non-statutory bodies such as Irish Aid, DFID and NIPSA, War on Want NI/ Fighting World Poverty works in partnership with organisations representing vulnerable and disadvantaged communities to improve the quality of their lives through long-term, sustainable programmes.
We work in partnership with local non-government organisations and community based organisations on long-term development projects, which improve peoples livelihoods.
We help poor and marginalized people to improve food production and to generate income to allow better nutrition, education for their children and improve their family’s health.
We support local organisations to raise awareness of HIB in their communities and aim to eliminate the stigma suffered by those people affected. We also support organisations involved in the provision for those infected or affected by HIV / AIDS.
We support people affected by conflict to bring about solutions, which help create a stable environment for the development and regeneration of their communities.
